The wine culture in Spain stretches back thousands of years to the Phoenicians who were trading in the wines from the Iberian Peninsular throughout the Mediterranean. Today there are a myriad of Spanish wine regions, grape varieties many of which a rescarcely known outside their locality.
We offer some great ways to taste and savour Spanish wines from formal sommelier led wine tastings at traditional winery venues or a more relaxed introduction with tours, tastings and visits to wineries in the region.
Our favourite way is with food. Eating tapas is a tradition for wine drinking going back to the Castillian King Alfonso X ( The Wise) who is credited with starting it over a thousand years ago. We offer guided wine and tapas tours though the old town where not only can you enjoy learning about the many landmarks and sites of the old city you can also enjoy it with some great wines paired with delicious hot and cold tapas dishes.
Our tours are usually around 3-4 hours – no rush as you enjoy our tour with wine and tapas!
