Aranjuez Spring Sailing And Kayaking On The Tagus River

One of the few places left for sailing in the Madrid region is the River Tagus which flows through the Royal town of Aranjuez.

We enjoyed the first of the Spring weather for a unique day out for a small team visit to the city, its impressive palace and beautiful royal gardens that stretch back hundreds of years.

Our home from home in the town was a large purposed built barge – with curious Martian design look giving an other-wordly spacecraft feel but yet oddly comforting birds eye view of the city us all!

The team were looked after magnificently as we were treated to some in-season strawberries with cava on arrival!

After a kayaking excursion donwriver we were back for some historical interactive games with questions and quizes that the crew had made before settling down for a good Arnajuez roast lunch with tasty local wine from the D.O of Arnajuez.

A great day out and one of the many excursions from Madrid that can be enjoyed – all within an hour of the capital.
